As you've all noticed, I've been delving in the art of Reiki since Thanksgiving when I received my first training. Apparently there are various forms of Reiki. Just as Christ didn't mean to create all the denominations, I doubt that's what Usui Sensei (or the divine light beings) intended. But oh well. It just makes it a little confusing for me. But I'm sure it will all settle out.
That aside, I met with a good friend, Shirley, last night to start a weekly Reiki trade. And well, it was amazing! Since my first attunement, I've practiced the palm healing techniques on friends about a half dozen times. I wish I had more opportunities, but it's hard to get guinea pigs. One of those recipients elicited really intense psychic visuals while I was sending the energy to her in the session. I've always had a connection with her, so I wasn't surprised. But last night with my Reiki buddy, we both had the most beautiful experiences.
We were trained a little differently. I was taught to lay hands directly on, while Shirley was taught to touch the aura at about 6 inches out. We just did what we knew and accepted each other. I worked on her first. I was very nervous, because she intimdates me a little. You wouldn't believe the visions I saw. It was like watching a movie. Animals, sky, ocean, earth, fire, Goddess Diana, etc. etc. etc. When she was working on me, I knew my grandmother and others came into the room and she told me she saw a circle of light beings surrounding me. We both felt very, very happy that the spirits brought us together.
