"Kwan Yin -  aka Guanyin is an East Asian deity of mercy, and a bodhisattva associated with compassion as venerated by Mahayana Buddhists. The name Guanyin is short for Guanshiyin, which means "Perceiving the Sounds (or Cries) of the World". She[A] is also sometimes referred to as Guanyin Bodhisattva (Chinese: 觀音菩薩).[ Some Buddhists believe that when one of their adherents departs from this world, they are placed by Guanyin in the heart of a lotus, and then sent to the western pure land of Sukhāvatī.

Also related to Green Tara" Tara (Sanskrit: तारा, tārā; Tib. སྒྲོལ་མ, Dölma) or Ārya Tārā, also known as Jetsun Dölma (Tibetan language:rje btsun sgrol ma) in Tibetan Buddhism, is a female Bodhisattva in Mahayana Buddhism who appears as a female Buddha in Vajrayana Buddhism. She is known as the "mother of liberation", and represents the virtues of success in work and achievements. In Japan she is known as Tara Bosatsu (多羅菩薩), and little-known as Duōluó Púsà (多羅菩薩) in Chinese Buddhism.[1]

Personal Update:

Green Tara is my favorite Goddess.  The lore is that she was told to wish to be reborn male in her next life so she could reach Nirvana, and she chose instead to remain a Bodhisattva, in service of assisting all to reach enlightenment.  I used to attend a Buddhist center and was given a Dharma name, "Karma Sherab Palmo," (Deeds of) Radiant Woman of Knowledge.

There is a prayer that is always the first that comes to mind when I am wanting to contact divine assistance.  (I actually learned this prayer in a book, Finding Freedom).

"Oh Illustrious Tara, 

please be aware of me, remove my obstacles and grant my excellent aspirations.'
